Symptoms Of Inflamed Vagina
  • General symptoms include itching, odor, irritation, whitish discharge from the vagina. These symptoms mainly occur in vaginitis caused by bacterial infection. Itching and burning sensation is common during urination and sexual intercourse.
  • Inflamed vagina caused by trichomoniasis is more severe in some women and some may not feel any symptoms at all.  This infection causes yellow-green discharge accompanied by an unpleasant odor.
  • Inflamed vagina due to yeast infection causes the labia or the vaginal lips become swollen and red.
The Causes Of Inflamed Vagina

There are different causes for inflamed vagina among women. The various causes include the following
  •  Yeast infection particularly caused Candida albicans.
  • Improper hygiene
  • Change in the pH balance of the vagina
  • Hormonal changes
  • Chemical factors such as tampons, vaginal wash, antibiotics, birth control pills.
  • Presence of foreign bodies like condoms , tampons etc
  • Diabetes
  • Tight clothing
  • Irritation from condoms, spermicides, douches, lubricants and even from semen
There are many natural remedies for the inflamed vagina or vaginitis. These remedies can offer immediate and permanent relief from the symptoms like itching, burning sensation and pain while urinating etc. Lifestyle changes also help to reduce the problem.
  1. Oregano Oil
This oil has antifungal qualities and hence can be used for treating the inflamed vagina caused due to fungal infections such as yeast infection.
  •  Take 500mg of oregano oil internally twice a day.
  • Continue the remedy until the infection completely retracts and you no longer have itchy or burning feeling.
  1. Yoghurt
Consuming and applying yoghurt in the vagina can reduce the bacterial infection in the vagina which causes inflamed vagina. The bacteria in the yoghurt kill all the bad bacteria in the body and promote the growth of good bacteria.
  • Consume two cups of yoghurt every day if you want to reduce the symptoms and to prevent the inflamed vagina.
  • For obtaining the best result, you can apply fresh yoghurt inside the vagina every few hours.
  1. Garlic
Garlic improves the immune system of the body and helps the body to fight the infections. It also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties hence helps to reduce the vaginal infections. This remedy can be used externally as well as internally.
  • Consume 300mg of garlic supplements every day
  • Instead you can take 3-4 cloves of raw garlic and chew it
  • Crush garlic to form a paste  and apply it inside the vagina
  1. Cranberry Juice
Cranberry juice is effective for treating urinary tract infections (UTI). They are acidic in nature and help to make the vagina acidic and prevent the multiplication of bacteria. Acidic environment is not suitable for bacterial growth.
  •  Drink at least 1 glass of cranberry juice every day to ensure that vagina is free from bacterial infections.
  • This remedy will not only reduce the inflamed vagina, it also helps to prevent infections.
  1. Chamomile Tea Bags
Chamomile gives a soothing sensation to the irritated skin and helps in relieving the inflammation. It also has antiseptic properties.
  • Take a glass of hot water and soak chamomile tea bags in it.
  • Keep the bags in the water for two minutes.
  • Allow the bags to cool and apply the bags inside the vagina.
  • Squeeze the bags so that the liquid spreads inside the vagina and starts its healing action.
  • Continue the remedy for two weeks to completely cure the inflammation and irritation.
